Welcome to Dry Scalp care

This website is dedicated to providing information, news and tips on dry scalp. The journey of starting this website was based on the lack of information I have found for my own head. I have been dealing with dry scalp since my second year of university. Dry scalp is not just limited to a simple “dandruff” problem but could be a skin infection and needs to be looked at by a professional. This could also cause hair loss. If you are interested in other dry scalp solutions, Click Here!for some solution.

Dry Scalp Symptoms:

  • Is your scalp itchy? Does your scalp have a burning sensation after you scratch?
  • Are you constantly scratching you’re the same areas of your scalp?
  • Embarrassed by the amount of flakes that are left on your shoulder?
  • Hair loss while scratching.

Dandruff vs Dry Scalp

Many people confuse dry scalp with dandruff. Dandruff is the build of dead skin cells and oily scalp. Dry scalp flakes are dead skin cells and white in color. The color of dandruff flakes is more yellow. It is important to know the difference between dandruff and dry scalp because it will determine the treatment.

Weather: An area that has very little moisture will cause your scalp or hair to be dry. The dry climate will increase the itchy feeling.

Nutrition: Having a healthy intake of crucial vitamins and water will make the difference between a dry scalp or moisture one. Eating process food, drinking little water or drinking too much coffee are all causes of dry scalp.

Harsh Shampoos:  Be very careful about the shampoo or conditioner that you use. Many shampoo’s and conditioners are pact with chemicals to help hair growth. But if your scalp is sensitive then it could have the opposite effect on your hair.

Heat: Using the hair dryer excessively will damage your hair as the point of the hair dryer to vaporize all the water/moisture. Do not blow the heated air directly on your scalp for long periods of time. This will cause itchiness and flakes.
